Mitsuo Fuchida (3 Dec 1902 – 30 May 1976) was a Japanese naval aviator and captain in the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service, best known for leading the first wave of air attacks on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941, famously signaling “Tora! Tora! Tora!” to indicate surprise. After World War II, he became a Christian convert and evangelist, sharing his life story across the U.S. and Europe. His wartime claims have been scrutinized by historians.
