The 1942 Oakland Oaks finished 85–92, placing sixth in the Pacific Coast League under manager Johnny Vergez. The club scored a league-low 644 runs and allowed 718. Hal Luby hit .310 with 75 RBI, while Jack Salveson led the staff with 24 wins and a 2.58 ERA. Several former and future Major Leaguers were on the roster.
