Arnie Ferrin (1925-2022) was a guard/forward celebrated for his leadership and all-around play. He starred at the University of Utah, leading the Utes to the 1944 NCAA championship and earning tournament Most Outstanding Player honors. Ferrin later guided Utah to the 1947 NIT title. He played professionally for the Minneapolis Lakers (1949-51), winning an NBA championship in 1950. Known for his defensive grit and versatility, he was the only four-time All-American in Utah basketball history. After his playing career, Ferrin served as athletic director at Utah, leaving a lasting legacy as both a champion and program builder.Offered is a 10" x 7.25" original TYPE I photo stamped on the back March 1, 1949 in Minneapolis Lakers uniform.This may be one his earliest publicity shots to ever surface.
