The 1955 Chicago Cubs finished 72–81, placing sixth in the National League. Ernie Banks (in his 2nd season in the Big Leagues) starred with 44 home runs, 117 RBIs, and a .295 average. Pitcher Sam Jones threw a historic no-hitter, the first by a Black pitcher in MLB.
Offered is a 1955 Chicago Cubs yearbook signed by 19 members of the team/organization. All pages are intact with some writing on the cover and inside cover by the original collector who wrote his name/address and signatures he was trying to obtain as a kid). Overall, the autographs would rate 9-10/10 and signed by the player’s photos. Yearbook would rate G-VG with the inner pages being an overall EX condition.
All of the autographs were signed in-person for a young collector in the late1950s – early 60s. Virtually all of the signers are now deceased.
