The 1959-60 Cincinnati Bearcats basketball team was one of the greatest college basketball squads ever assembled. Led by legendary guard Oscar Robertson, who averaged 33.7 points per game in his senior season, the Bearcats dominated college basketball. Robertson, known as "The Big O," was a triple-double machine who could score, rebound, and distribute with equal brilliance. Forward Carl Bouldin provided crucial support alongside Robertson. The team went 28-2 during the regular season and reached the Final Four, though they fell short of the national championship. Robertson's performances that season remain among the most dominant in college basketball history.Offered is an original 10" x 8" TYPE I photo from 1959 taken by Fred Straub (his stamp on back) of the Bearcats arriving back in Cincinnati stepping off an American Airlines plane.Oscar Robertson leads the way carrying two awards/trophies (it looks like one of them may be his 1959 Holiday Basketball Festival Madison Square Garden MVP Trophy.Behind him are other members of the team and coaching staff.Carl Bouldin (who was drafted by the Cinci Royals, but chose to play Major League baseball - he would pitch for the Senators from 1961-64) is clearly standing behind him wearing a dark pair of shades.Crystal Clear shot!
