Santo Trafficante Jr. was a powerful American mob boss who led the Tampa-based Trafficante crime family from the 1950s until his death in 1987. He inherited the organization from his father and became one of the most influential Mafia figures in the country, with strong ties to Cuba before the Castro revolution. Trafficante was linked to major gambling, narcotics, and national Mafia affairs, and was repeatedly investigated but never convicted.
