Matt Williams was one of the premier power-hitting third basemen of the 1990s. A five-time All-Star, he led the National League with 43 home runs during the strike-shortened 1994 season and paced the league with 122 RBI in 1990. Williams won four Gold Gloves and four Silver Slugger Awards while starring for the San Francisco Giants and Arizona Diamondbacks, later earning a World Series ring with Arizona in 2001.
Offered is a game worn San Francisco Giants baseball cap that dates from the early 90s with “The Pro Sports Specialties Corp.” tagging stitched into the cap. At some point in the 1990s the company stopped using the ® and switch to ™ on their tags. The cap also features the Official License of Major League Baseball flag tag in the cap. The size tag had been ripped out at some point.
Cap is in decent shape but definitely shows signs of wear with sweat stains in the band and the #9 written and embedded into the underside of the brim in black sharpie.
Rare game used article from this popular Giants player. Note Williams wore the number 9 for the Giants from 1989-96.
