Bob Friend (Deceased) was a durable right-handed pitcher best known for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1951–1965). A four-time All-Star, he led the NL in ERA (1955) and wins (1958), and helped Pittsburgh win the 1960 World Series. He finished with 197 career wins and over 3,600 innings pitched.
Offered is a Pirates team issued postcard of Friend in his windup, signed in blue ink and postmarked on the back on September 18, 1956 (notably the Braves played the Pirates in Pittsburgh that day winning 6-4.Bob had the day off).
