Ed Bartels (1925–2007) was a 6-foot-5 forward who played college basketball at NC State after serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. He played 32 NBA games with the Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks and Washington Capitols from 1949 to 1951. Bartels also had an extensive career in the American Basketball League, playing for several teams through the 1952–53 season.
