Gil Hodges (D. 1972 at age 47) was a power-hitting first baseman for the Brooklyn Dodgers, an eight-time All-Star who helped win the 1955 World Series. He managed the Washington Senators from 1963-67, steadily improving the expansion club, before leading the “Miracle Mets” to their first championship in 1969. Hodges was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2022, 50 years after his death.
Offered is an Official American League (Joe Cronin) baseball signed in blue ballpoint pen on the sweet spot. The signature dates from his time as manager of the Washington Senators.This creamy white baseball displays as a single, but as per the PSA/DNA LOA included; there is evidence of signature removals on all four panels.
The removals are almost impossible to see with the naked eye.Hodges singles do occasionally come up for sale, but not in this type of condition. When you can find them, they are almost always signed on a side panel. Incredible piece!!!!
