Lefty O’Doul Signed AUTO Original TYPE I Photo 2 X NL Batting Champion D.1969

Lefty O'Doul (D. 1969), San Francisco-born outfielder, was one of the most prolific hitters of his era. A two-time NL batting champion, he batted .398 with a then-NL record 254 hits for the Philadelphia Phillies in 1929. His career .349 average ranks sixth all-time. After his playing days he managed the San Francisco Seals from 1935 to 1951, becoming the most successful manager in Pacific Coast League history.

Offered is a 7x9 inch original TYPE I photo (photo has been mounted to a backing board as it was framed at one point) of Lefty O’Doul as manager of the San Francisco Seals.  Signed in black steel tipped pen and personalized to “Pete” and dated July 12, 1949.
