Robert Zuppke (D. 1957) was one of college football’s most influential coaches, leading Illinois from 1913 to 1941. He guided the Fighting Illini to four national championships and seven Big Ten titles while coaching legendary Red Grange. A renowned innovator, Zuppke helped pioneer the huddle, screen pass and flea flicker. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1951.
