Willie Mays was one of baseball’s greatest all-around-players. A 24 time All Star, he hit 660 home runs, won 2 MVP Awards, 12 Gold Gloves, and led the San Francisco Giants to the 1954 World Series title.

Alvin Dark (D. 2014) was a former Major League Baseball player and manager. He played from 1946 to 1960, primarily as a shortstop, and was a three-time All-Star. Dark starred for the New York Giants, winning the 1948 Rookie of the Year Award and helping them capture the 1954 World Series. He later managed the Oakland Athletics to the 1974 World Series championship.
